Last week I gained 1 pound. When I went down to 174 I was only there for a day and then 175 for like 2 weeks. I'm not sure what that was about. So when I decided to lose 5 lbs. I actually have to lose 6 to get to 169, which is my goal for my vacation. Thats 2 lbs a week.
I have never gained weight in the past 6 months. So that really upset me.
So this week I went all out. Sticking to my calories. Exercising everday. (yesterday I ran 4 miles!!!)
Today isnt my weigh in day. But, I couldnt help but take a peak.
As of today... I weigh 173.8. I have lost 2 lbs since last wednesday. And its only monday! I just got done on the elliptical. My goal for this week is to be 172. Then I would only have to lose a pound and a half the next 2 weeks. I have never been so nervous about weigh ins. I have never worked this hard. Can I get rid of almost another pound in 2 days?? I'm not sure about that. But.. I am pleased to not be 175. I'm so close to 172! I have lost 31 pounds! I am in a size 14.. and I fit into a size 12 dress!! But most of all... I can run 4 miles. Which is my favorite part. I have a long way to go, but I feel so pleased that I am losing still. Keep going everyone! Don't get upset what the numbers are. Your health is very important. So put down that snack... and go for a walk! Your heart will thank you! You can do it!!
I have discovered a very important thing.. Weight loss is about choices. If you want to change. Each choice counts. The choice to watch tv or exercise.. The choice to eat a cookie or an apple. The choice to eat more chips or to put the bag down..
Change takes work. Its not easy to get my work out clothes on and run. It wasnt easy at 204 lbs and 5 feet tall to do what I've done to get where I am. I hate the elliptical machine. But its the only machine I've got. I do squats in my tiny bedroom and weight loss videos on my laptop. I cant afford the gym and I work out in tennis shoes I got from walmart on sale for a dollar. So.. NO MORE EXUSES! Today is your day my friend!
Today is the only day you have. Think before you eat and make the choice. Decide Who do you want to be.. and join me in the fight. I'd rather be where I am .. winning the battle.. than at 204 lbs wondering when I'll wake up thin. But.. thats just me.
Hope you are encouraged!
Sincerly, The girl who wont give up!
I take it back. I am 173.4. After I worked out and ate.. weird.. I'll take it!
What a great story! You're absolutely right...no more excuses, I mean, we've made about a gazillion to be where we are right now. Heck, if you haven't had a gain in 6 months, you should be HAPPY! I know it's never fun to see a gain on the scale, but you have done awesome so far and you'll continue to do so! I know you're trying to make the 5 pound goal, but don't get too obsessed with the number. Just do what you can. Great job! ~Sara :o)
Thanks Sarah! My boyfriend told me the same thing today. He told me I dont have to lose anymore weight.. which was comforting to know.. Although he knows I plan to lose more. But I am happy to say I am a bit more relaxed. Today I didnt exercise at all. Which was a nice break. Tomorrow is my weigh in day.. and I cant help but hope to see 172. But if not. I'm ok with that too. :)
I meant Sara. Sorry.. :)
You go girl. Thank you for sharing this. I always considered myself sort of an "angry dieter" but your piece here really moved me. I'm fighting the good fight too. Keep up! :) "The hardest thing for a human being to do is to know ourselves and change ourselves." - Alfred Adler
Way to go!! Dont be discouraged!!! the weight you gained is muscle!! If your running this is what your body will do!! Rather it depleting it it needs it!!! Im on a good diet to weight loss as well...its been a struggle at times for me too...I get to my goal but I get there longer than expected...then I feel...WOW!! I did it!!! Keep going!!!
